Global Issue: Wild Animal Extinction

The topic I found yesterday that interested me the most was Wild Animal Extinction. This hasn't really affected me life very much, but this is a very important thing because all animals have a purpose in life from spiders who eat other insects to lions that keep populations of other wild animals from getting too large. I believe this will be the final topic that I choose.

Different perspectives on the issue: There is a positive and negative perspective on this issue. The positive side is some animals populations are not getting over populated to where there aren't enough resources to take care of them. The negative side is some species (Amur Leopard, Black Rhino, Cross River Gorilla, Hawksbill Turtle, etc.) have populations that are getting critically low. World Wild Life shows there are 17 species that have a CRITICALLY low number. And many many more that are getting close to that, which are considered as Endangered at this moment.

Are there people for and against issue: I believe there are people that are for and against this issue. There are a lot of animal lovers and experts in the world that do not want animals to go extinct because they will be gone forever. There are people who live off these animals staying alive because they hunt them and sell their meat and fur for money so they can survive, and people who do safari tours that they have to be able to find the animals and show them to people. There are also people who are against saving all these species from going extinct. They may have been attacked or had family/friends attacked by an animal and they don't want it around anymore. There are also people who really just don't care.

Do people disagree on this issue: Yes, the people who hate specific species of animals would disagree in helping them save the animals and letting the species re-populate to have sufficient numbers to not be classified as endangered.

Is there a topic that can cause controversy: I can't currently think of a topic that would cause controversy with this.
